I am pleased to announce that my waiting list is now open.

Referrals will be accepted via EMAIL ONLY at: admin@lorrainecarson.co.uk

To be added to the waiting list, please send an email entitled “REFERRAL” with the following details: your name and CONTACT TELEPHONE NUMBER, client’s name, date of birth, address, name of the school/college they attend and year group (if appropriate), and reason for referral (briefly outline the main areas of concern). Please also indicate whether you would be able to attend an appointment at short notice. Your name will be added to the waiting list and you will be contacted to arrange an appointment in due course.  

Please note that I can provide an opinion regarding the presence of Autism and/or ADHD, but not a diagnosis. If appropriate, advice will be offered about onward referral for diagnostic assessment.

WHAT IS AN EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST?

Educational Psychologists usually work with children and young people (and sometimes adults) who are experiencing difficulties that hinder their ability to learn successfully and fully participate in education, employment, and other activities. This can include learning difficulties and social and emotional issues.

 

ABOUT LORRAINE

Lorraine is a chartered psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working with young people and their families. She provides a range of psychological services including assessment, consultation, training and individual support. Lorraine specialises in assessing and reporting on a wide range of Special Educational Needs including general learning difficulties, specific learning difficulties in literacy (dyslexia) and numeracy (dyscalculia), social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and can screen for ADHD/ADD, autism/ASD, dyspraxia/DCD, and speech & language difficulties. Assessments can also be carried out for ‘Access Arrangements’ for examinations. Lorraine also has experience in medicolegal work including personal injury, traumatic brain injury, sexual and historical abuse.

REFERRALS

Referrals are accepted directly from clients or their parents/guardians, and may also be made by schools or other relevant statutory or voluntary organisations, or businesses, as appropriate. Contact me directly to discuss your individual needs.
